Summary

Brackets for holding together four plates of wood to form an arcade joustick controller platform for one player.

The bottom plate can slide out, so you don't need tools to assemble or open the box.

Instructions

The design expects two MDF plates measuring 35x21 cm, one 35x2cm and one 35x5. This is by no means the perfect size, but I just went ahead with what I got. The 35mm width can be changed without altered the STL files.

You want to start by measuring if your joystick and buttons will fit between the plates -- if not, increase the height of the two short sides in the Sketchup source as needed (same added height on both to keep the angle) and export as STL again. the current design seems to export without any issues using the more or less official STL plugin.

The Sketchup source file includes a model of the wood plates and various stages of the bracket designs if you want to play with other sizes.

I printed in PLA using a layer height of .24mm and an XY size compensation of -.12 to get the measurements as intended. You can scale a few percent up if the wood plate doesn't fit, and glue the brackets on instead od relying on friction.
