Summary

A simple key holder that you can place on your wall once completed and hang your keys off of via a pair of magnets located at the bottom.

Instructions

I started in CorelDRAW X7 and brought over my reference image for the logo. I then traced out the outline for both the outline, as well as the inside logo. Upon bringing it into 3ds Max, the design gave me three separate meshes: the scorpion tail, the the outline, and the inner part of the outline the needed to be sucked out. I extruded all three pieces out, making the tail and outline 2.5, and the inner portion 1.5. I then lined up the inner portion with the outline and boolean subtracted out the interior, leaving me with space for which I can place the scorpion tail. I moves the tail into place and boolean combined the two meshes.I then sized the magnets I was going to use (7-8 mm in diameter and 2 in depth) and I created two simple cylinders to fit the description. After properly proportioning the cylinders, I had to resize my mesh. The most accurate way of doing this is bringing it into the print preview for your 3d printer and judge for yourself the scale that you want.
Once I got the proper size for the mesh, I booleaned out the cylinders and then capped them. All that was left to do was print it.
After it was printed, it was simply a matter of sanding and painting it. Paint colours vary, but I went for a black primer, followed by a silver outline and red interior to attempt to make it look as cool as possible.
