Printer... Wind My Watch

This is an automatic-watch winder for the Printrbot Simple Metal 1403 printer. Movement of the bed during printing is harnessed to drive a simple gear that rotates a watch in an attached holder, winding it in the process. Fast or slow, every inch moved generates power.

Version 1 and 2, mounted on the Y-axis arm failed miserably and performed marginally, in that order.

Version 3 (current) works perfectly, a 45-minute print yielded 11 hours of running for a CROSS MEN'S PALATINO AUTOMATIC WATCH (Model: CR8008-01) that had been left to run down completely earlier on.

BOM:
6 x M36mm screws (2 for cap, 4 for holder)
2 x M3
8mm screws
1 x 20mm washer

See pictures for assembly instruction, video for the winding in action.
All print without support except for Holder, Chassis Bottom and Gear

Next up… plans to incorporate a worm drive, so the holder unit can be mounted perpendicularly.

UPDATE 5 Dec 2015: A 2-hour print fully wound the watch and it ran for the last 40 hours.
