A simple and minimal compass that can easily be 3D printed and assembled.

How I Designed This

I wanted a minimal, easy to print object that could be used in education. I modeled this from scratch in Autodesk Inventor. I modeled this with ease of assembly in mind, and all you have to do is snap the two pieces together.

            <div><p>Objectives:<br>Students would be able to learn architectural and engineering drawing from this tool. It also has many mathematical implications.</p></div>                <div><p>Audience:<br>Students and artists of any skill level.</p></div>                <div><p>Preparation:<br>No preparation is required for use of this tool. All that is needed is a pencil or pen.</p></div>                <div><p>Steps:<br>-Assemble printed pieces by snapping together.<br>-Push pencil through the holder on the holding arm.<br>-Use the compass to draw perfect circles or arcs.</p></div>                <div><p>Results:<br>Students will gain a better understanding of the 3D printing process while also gaining experience in drawing and understanding mathematics.</p></div>
