Summary

When I printed out a Bra Beast, based off of Theo Jansen's Strandbeest, I found that with PLA the pins were too large and that I needed to reduce the height & width slightly and keep the length the same because PLA is more rigid than ABS.

I found about 92-94% on both axes worked best with a slightly snug fit. I modified the leg section plate by removing the pins so I would save time and not waste materials since I had to print the pins separately.

I also increased the speed on the fine setting to 90 mm/.s for printing.</p></div>

How I Designed This

I used Separate Shells in Mesh Mixer to break the STL into separate meshes. Then I could select each pin and delete it from the model.

Next I used the Export function from the Print screen to get a combined STL file. It also produced an STL for each individual part. I'm sure there is a way to avoid the step, but I haven't looked for it yet.
