Galapagos and its Volcanos

The Galapagos sit over a "hot spot" on the earth's crust and have many active volcanos. Here are models of the islands and six volcanos. A very nice introduction to Galapagos geology, which includes descriptions of the individual volcanos, is avaiable at:

http://www.geo.cornell.edu/geology/Galapagos.html

The models were constructed from NASA's SRTM3 data:
http://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version2_1/
using a program similar to that described in thing:121275.

Stl files are:

Galapagos.stl 320 x 280 thirty arc-second intervals
Wolf.stl 200 x 180 three arc-second intervals
Darwin.stl 230 x 230 three arc-second intervals
Alcedo.stl 200 x 220 three arc-second intervals
Sierra_Negra.stl 200 x 200 three arc-second intervals
Cerro_Azul.stl 200 x 200 three arc-second intervals
Fernandina.stl 200 x 200 three arc-second intervals

The fortran code that created the polyhedron commands is included.
