Summary

Basically it is a base with 11 slots that are at pre-determined heights which can all hold the pegs which smoothly slide into them. This can be used to explain how to find the volume of a solid using integration, it can also be used to explain simple geometric properties, etc.

Objectives

            <div><p>This project would allow an instructor(s) to be able to more easily communicate how a 3D object's volume is found through integration. The instructor(s) would also be able to use this model to easily explain other simple geometric properties.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Audiences</strong></p>            <div><p>The intended audience for this device is completely dependent on an individual's skill level in mathmatics, it would all depend on the instructor's decision.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Preparation</strong></p>            <div><p>Since this is intended to teach students about different geometric properties and how integration works on a 3D object, the more advanced students will need to know the basic principles and rules of integrations, while on the other hand this could be used as an entry level item into a geometry class so the students in this case would need to know very basic geometry skills.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Steps</strong></p>            <div><p>Basically the ability of this object leaves the user many options as what and how to operate it.<br>The basics are the ability to add and remove different pegs in preset heights, this allows for many different examples taht the instructor would be able to create on his/her own.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Results</strong></p>            <div><p>The students should have been able to better understand which ever subject matter that their instructor used this apparatus to explain, however this item is entended for the teachings of integrating 3D objects and teaching the basics to 3D objects in geometry.</p></div>
