Modular Quad Copter Mounting System (APM)

I'm using this on a hobbyking ST360 setup. My concept is that I wanted an anti-vibration mount for my APM 2.5, although this should work for any controller, where I could easily attach and detach modules between multicopters.

I'm currently only using one mount, but plan on making more. Definitely one for my vTX so I can swap it with the camera easily to other RC vehicles. The APM is mounted using O-Rings to reduce any vibration. For now I'm not using my GPS mount, but I plan to use it on my larger quad I'm making.

I included my original base design, although I redesigned it due to weight. The new design is much lighter and has more areas to route wires/zipties.

I printed ABS with 15% infill and had the following results:
Quad Base - 42g
Quad Base Light Version - 25g
Camera Mount Module - 9g
GPS Mount - 13g

I've included the Alibre Design files for people to modify if desired, along with a modular connector to use as a start for new module designs.

Although my holes are aligned for the ST360 frame, it shouldn't be a big deal to move them to match other frames. Or redesign the base to replace the top panel of your quad (something I'm planning).

I made the modular connectors have long slots so they could double for double use for battery straps/zip ties, and easily adjust for length when connecting modules if needed.

You can see on my quad I also used the camera shroud from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:76582 and the APM 2.5 case from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:36883.

09/26/2013 - I added a new module for a 3DR style telemetry radio. You can see it attached to my new quad I'm making in the photo.
