How I Designed This

In TinkerCad

            <div><p>Although TinkerCad is likely the simplest of CAD software packages available, it provides many options. Using the basic 3D shape templates provided, one can produce a wide array of jewelry designs.</p></div>

Custom Section

Project: Custom Jewelry-Making for Kids

            <div><p>By completing this project, participants will gain an understanding of the relationship between value and meaning, as well as the differences in between aesthetic and utility. Through discussions, show-and-tell activities, hand-drawing, and CAD drawing, participants will be asked to apply their new knowledge by customizing a jewelry piece. This project culminates in the presentation of student projects, wherein each student describes and explains the unique features and valuable qualities (aesthetic and/or practical) associated with their piece. If possible, students should prototype jewelry using a D printer and cold-cast their final pieces in order to be kept and worn by the student or auctioned for charity.</p><p>This project can be administered as an art, entrepreneurship, or social studies project. IT is important for the instructor to adjust their presentation of this activity according to the needs and interests of their students as well as any logistical constraints in the educational environment.</p></div>
