Antique Matches Dispenser Scan

Scanned with the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner

This is a black cast iron matches dispenser. I couldn't get a good scan until I applied a matte white coating on it. This time I used a spray called SKD-S2 Developer (Spotcheck by Magnaflux) It's a spray used by welders to find cracks... it sprays on wet and quickly dries leaving behind a fine white powder that can be brushed off the object. Seems to work great so far.

There's some problems with the concave areas of this thing, but it would be easily fixed with some time in Meshmixer. Most importantly the cool looking design on the sides scanned awesomely.
