Snowball iCE Mic Stand Repair Part - Rev A
I just got a Snowball Ice Microphone and it is awesome...the stand it came with....not so awesome. The mic is supposed to thread into the base but the plastic threads were almost instantly ripped up and the mic doesn't safely stay put. Since the little tripod base unscrews, I was able to take off the damaged thread portion to retrofit my own. I designed this so the mic just sits on it, no locking...yet. I would like to revise this so the mic fits a little snugger and also come up with a way to lock it in. For now, this works.
FYI - Assembly is a little tricky. I hollowed out the part and there is a recessed hexagon inside the part to trap the locking nut. I used a 6-32 screw and nut, instead of a tapping screw (how it was originally designed). You just need to use a screwdriver or something to press down on the nut initially. Once it starts to engage you are good to go...
