127T change gear to fit to 100T change gear
This is a further refinement of my prior 127T design to enable machining of metric threads on Harrison L5 lathes. See my other designs for other lathe gear variations. http://www.thingiverse.com/nglasson/designs
The gear that this is re-mixed from takes a long time to print and it occured to me that it would be a simple matter to design a gear with 127T on the outside and 100T on the inside so it can be mounted on an existing steel 100T gear. Either the 100T or the 127T is normally mounted on the lead screw drive end so you wouldn't normally need to use both gears at once. This part is made in 4 segments so it can even be printed on a bed of 150mm square. I deliberately made the segments different sizes to avoid the chance of miss-assembly and to help if you want to nest them. All 4 pieces can easily be nested on a 200mm square bed.
I suggest that the complete 127T gear would be more convenient if you needed to switch between metric and imperial threadcutting, but if you mainly do one or the other, this option of a plug on to your 100T gear might be the answer.
