Plotter Pen Holder For Robo 3D R1 Plus
This is a plotter pen holder for the Robo 3d R1 Plus. It started life as an attempt to use the Robo as a PCB resist plotter, which sad to say wasn't as great an idea as I may have hoped. The accuracy falls short of far better options, although it does work and can be used for demonstration or educational purposes in that regard. This is more useful for plotting basic art for signs or decoration. It was designed to use a Sharpie Extra Fine Point marker, although I'm sure it would work well with any pen or marker with a similar diameter.
The holder works by clamping onto the front lower portion of your Robo 3D R1 Plus extruder assembly, right over where the "DO NOT TOUCH" warning sticker is at. It WILL damage the sticker, just so you know... it's pretty tight. To attach it, face the inner curved surface toward the extruder carriage and press firmly. It will slip over the curve of the extruder carriage and snap in place. To remove, slide it a little to the right and push forward on the upper portion of it, it comes off easily. The riser with the slot is meant to accept a standard stepper motor mount screw, to screw into the unused hole on the extruder motor, although the riser itself generally gives enough stability simply by pressing against the extruder motor mount bracket. Feel free to experiment with that.
If you damage your printer with this thing, you're doing something really wrong, it's all your fault, and you should have been more careful. I.O,W. Not My Fault and not this thing's fault. Know your printer.
