tweezers or forceps with round end
tweezers or forceps with round end
The tweezers I printed tended to break easily because the PLA was too brittle.
So I redesigned the end part to avoid punctual forces.
So what's the Point about these? Why are they different?
- Easy to print in about 30min or less. (Less time than searching and in the end buying another pair of tweezers because you don't find them right now...)
- Designed for flexibility in order not to break even when printed in PLA.
- Strong enough to safely pick up electronic parts.
- Cheap. Thats one cause why I printed a couple of these instead of searching all the time for a tweezer.
- Available on demand. If you can't find one right now, just print it.
If you need some extra grip for the tweezers you can use a rubber coating for the tip. This helps a lot. I used it on my other design, too. It works really well and is applied in seconds when you use the spray-on type. You need just one spraying layer, which dries in seconds. You can read more about this and what exactly I used here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:200571
