Summary

A 30mm ThorLabs cage system part to mount a pinhole with XY positioning micrometer screw knobs, a fixed pinhole mount or even a blank cage part for blocking light. This fits well in the cage system allowing the pinhole distance from the light source to be adjusted in an optics experiment.

If you want to print 6mm diameter, set diameter of hole to 6.4mm to 6.45mm and test a small cube with a hole first.</p></div>

Post-Printing

The ER holes are tampered at the ends, the bottom side gets smeared a bit, cutting all around with a surgical blade does a good finish. It also removes any threads that may result from the head movement from one part of the print to the other during print.

How I Designed This

I based this model's design on the DXF CAD files from Thorlabs website, usually provided on the product page. The files are marked "for reference only and not manufacturing". That's because they may not be to scale. I only used the file to trace the outline in Inkscape and export a dxf that I can import in openscad and linearly extrude to any part width of my liking. The holes are placed in code using dimensions in the datasheet.
