90mm side-by-side telescope tube mounting rings
Tube rings to mount two telescopes with a 90mm outer tube diameter side-by-side. This works for some ED80/ST80 imaging scope/guide scope combinations, but some ED80s have a 100mm tube diameter.
You need a fairly large print bed for this!
Print 2x top and 2x bottom pieces - the handle is optional but it's convenient and might add some additional stiffness.
It all fits together with M6 bolts, the handle has recesses for 2 captive hex nuts.
I've uploaded the Sketchup files along with the STLs.
- PLA is probably a bad idea if you're going to keep this in an observatory/shed that gets hot
- ABS is probably best, but due to the size it's hard to prevent it warping when printing.
- PETG should work, but it's more flexible than ABS/PLA and you don't want flexure between the imaging scope and guide scope - I haven't tested it.
- Carbon fibre filaments might be ideal - stiff is good.
