Instructions

WARNING - Tools used in this built may not be in the realm/capability of an empty shop. Ad-libbing with available tools and parts may/will be needed.

Tools & Items that I used in this build were: 3D printer, hand files, drill bits, taps, band saw, metal lathe, angle grinder, rotary grinder, mig-welder, 2" x 1/2" 1/4" Delrin plastic (2x), steel rod 3/16 x 3-1/2" long, 3/8-16 x 6" length of all thread rod, 4" length of 1/2" EMT tubing, flat washer: 1.075" OD x .710" ID, 3/8-16 hex nut, 82 degree counter sink drill, sand paper, paint, Loctite 243, white lithium grease, various fasteners, . . . .

Steps:

Print the parts and clean them up so that they slipped together.
Make the metal parts (Bolt Assmy and Nut Assmy - pdfs attached). This is where I used a lathe so the parts were round and the welder to connect things, and then the lathe again to clean it up.
Trim the flange off the rear cover (opps - that feature is a little to tall in the part file, sand or trim it down so it fits flush when assembled to the body), drill 2 mounting holes through it to attach it to the rear vise body, then use a rotary tool to enlarge the outer portion so the screw head fits flat and within the body of the cover. This is what holds the Nut Assembly in place so align those holes to the notches or notch the Nut Assmy after. Drlll smaller matching holes in the rear vise body to attach it with, tap those for the attachment screws (I sorted out 2 #6-32 x 3/4" long Pan head machine screws for that purpose).
Tap the jaw mounting holes in the vise bodies (Front & Rear) with #8-32.
Fashion 2 jaws from plastic for the jaws (I like Delrin), reverse-match drill those to the holes in the vise body and bevel for flat head screws. (I used #8-32 x 3/4" long Flat head)
For a handle I used a 3-1/2" length of steel 3/16" rod. I placed a dollop of wire weld on each end while it was in place & shaped each with hand grinder until they were round-ish.

Note that the EMT tubing is plated with a zinc finish, the steel parts may possibly have special finishes as well. Use the appropriate protection while dealing with these materials (welding helmet, respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, etc).

Naturally throughout this, similar metric components can be liberally substituted.
