Summary

This converts the flexible hoses headed to a TIE Pilot helmet for easy connection and release.

Tape a rare-earth magnet to the tip of this, put a similar one inside the helmet where it'll marry up, and click! Once testing is successful, glue the magnets in place.

Some adjustment may be required, of course, depending on your helmet maker, magnet strength, etc - but that's all part of the fun, right?

How I Designed This
