Summary

Print 30 clips to assemble 12 CDs or DVDs into a dodecahedron.

Instructions

Print one clip using the "1 dodecahedron disk test clip.stl" file. Place both slots of the clip onto disks to make sure the hole is of appropriate size to allow the clip to grab the disk without slipping off. The disk doesn't have to go all the way into the end of the slot - the clip just has to be able to firmly grab the disk without slipping. If the slots seem too big or too small, you can scale the .stl file up or down, and then apply the same scaling to the "30 dodecahedron disk clips.stl" file.

(You can take a chance and skip step 1 and go straight to step 2. I printed the clips on a MakerBot Replicator 2 with 2 shells, 10% infill and a raft. Oddly one of the slots for each clip ended up a bit wider than the other slot even though the slots are the same width in the .stl file, but the clips still worked fine.)

Print 30 clips using the "30 dodecahedron disk clips.stl" file.
You can optionally print the dodecahedron clip placement template PDF to help properly position the clips on the disks.
Assemble the disks one at a time until you have a dodecahedron.
You can optionally glue or tape the clips in place once you are done with assembly.
