Captured Quarter Fidget Spinner
My son wanted a fidget spinner. I thought it is a waste to use bearings as weights. So I found a design here on Thingverse that uses quarters as weights. Except it printed the bearing hole too small and the quarter holes too big. Maybe just differences in printer resolutions/accuracy. So I remixed by making the bearing hole sllightly bigger and reshaped the quarter holes so that the quarters would be captured inside of the hole.
Designed for 2 quarters in each hole making my cost $2.20 ( 6 quarters, 1 bearing, plastic)
THIS REQUIRES THAT YOU PAUSE THE PRINTER AT ABOUT 60% TO DROP THE QUARTERS IN.
Turns out the bearings cost about 50 cents each, and since I have two quarters in each hole, it is a push. Well.....I have more quarters sitting around than bearings.
