Garden Connect 4
We grabbed a couple of sheets of 600x900 mdf, 30mmx42mmx1200mm x 1 and 30mm x 18mm x 1200 x 3 pine.
one piece of 1200 x 30 x 8 tasmanian oak for the bottom swing piece.
Cut the 1200mm in half, so 2 end pieces and 6 internal channel pieces.
Using the 30mm as the spacing between the two sheets of MDF, we have 101mm approx gap between each vertical channel.
using a 70mm hole saw, the holes were cut centre 50mm in 50mm up from bottom left corner then 100 offsets for a total of 42 holes.
The pieces are Ã100mm x 25mm cylinders, with embossed artwork on the end faces.
The first prototype piece I printed as a solid part, with 0.05 honeycomb fill, which would have meant 130m or so for each coloured set of pieces.
By splitting the faces from the cylinder walls, this was reduced significantly, so less than 2mtrs plastic for each face, cylinder wall set, and a range of colours were introduced.
This leaves open the option for teams 2 player with the added complexity of having two colours of yours, and 2 colours of the opposing team.
