I recomend 5/16" 303 Stainless Baring Shaft quality rods from Speady Metals, these bushings are made for 303 SS. https://www.speedymetals.com/p-1041-516-rd-303-stainless-steel-bearing-shaft-quality-0005-to-0015.aspx

Rods are press fit, I ream the shafts with a 5/16" drill bit and still have plenty of holding pressure. The Misumi nut holders also designed to be press fit even though provisions are made for M4 fasteners. I use a heat gun to make insertion easier. The Igus bushing shafts should not have to be reamed on a well calibrated printer.
