Summary

This is a replacement bridge for a Makerbot Cupcake to add a Mk5 Bridge compatible with a Makergear groovemount hot end.

Instructions

1) Lasercut in 4mm Acrylic (should fit in the groove on your groovemount.
2) Assemble, some of the side parts will wobble when done in 4mm acrylic. This is fixed when you bolt it up. You may need to clean up the area for the groove mount. Slot your groovemount insulator in to the guide. push that through the bridge platform. Bolt the bridge to the extruder to platform, then assembled platform to rest of bridge.
3) Super glue the bottom pieces to hold it to the platform

We had a gen3 extruder and wanted to use a Gen5 mount extruder. We made this by modifying the published files.

We had to clean up some of the holes and make them slightly bigger as our laser cutter wasn't well tuned.

The head was a Groovemount from Makergear, 36mm tube, modular heater core, .35mm nozzle. This will just clear the bottom of the platform when tightened and bolted in. If you have an issue with clearance you can grind down the mounting bolts that connect the toolhead bridge to the platform or modify the height of the platform mount in the SVG file before cutting.

Some parts of the SVG are red. If your lasercutter software supports it, do those cuts first so that the large pieces do not fall until the end.
