Dummy Stepper Driver
For a while now, Ive been trying to design my own printer electronics, and wanted to test that all of the connections were being made to where they were and that everything was working as it should up to the stepper drivers, so I designed this.
I used 10k 608 SMD resistors that I bought, and some SMD LEDs that I got from tv remotes and cell phones. If you look at the pic, you'll see how it is set up. The resistors sit on the same pad as the pins to conserve space.
The LEDs will light up showing power for the motors, driver power, stepper setup, when it's enabled, and the pulse/direction. I found it was a really handy tool for diagnosing problems with software and hardware.
There's two PDF files, normal, which you can use with transparency/photosensitive boards, and mirrored, which is used for making the board through toner transfer method.
EDIT: Ive built a few of these so far, and used them to work on my 3d printer and cnc machine projects, and they do work great.
