Summary

Here is a Quick Release Lever for the Airtripper Bowden Extruder.

For filament release and tension on the Airtripper Bowden Extruder use this lever to make quick access easy. This is designed for using with a petrol hose for spring tension on the pressure bearing. But, can be adapted to use with springs if you make a pivot rod. See Instructions for suggestions.

Instructions

Directions:

Print one Quick Release Lever.
Clean and open the Lever pivot hole if required to fit onto your tubing.
You want a slip fit. Not too tight - Not too loose.
Use a small amount of non-petroleum lubricant (for ABS) between the Lever and tubing. Any lubricant should work for PLA or Nylon.
Slip Lever onto the tubing between the two bolt holes.
Reinstall the tubing, bolts and your New Quick Release Lever.
Leave bolts loose.
Put Lever into closed position - See Pictures.
Tighten/Adjust Bolt tension on the filament.
Check Lever operation by Opening and Closing.
Open & Close, as required, when required. :-)

Springs?
A suggestion to those using springs - Use a wood dowel or similar for a pivot rod. The pivot hole diameter of the Lever is approximately 13mm/.512". You will need bolts approximately 50mm/2" in length.
