Print in 1 or 2 pieces, horizontal or vertical, hexagon, octagon, round cylinder, any number of sides.

Instructions

Download an STL or hack the OpenSCAD to get an arm any way you want it. Print 4 and combine with the rest of the PL2Q project.

UPDATE: The new 1 piece arm STL has 11 sides and a proper inner diameter of 13 mm. This should print well and fit nicely on PL2Q motor mounts.

UPDATE 2: The 2 pieces are not the same length as the original. Where they slide together, that length is lost. I bet it's still a good length for flying, but I have no exp.

UPDATE 3: Added a 2 piece arm STL file where they fit together to create the same height as the original Hugin arm. Also updated the SCAD file.

It's probably best to print with 3 shells.

I did not think this was a "work in progress", but anything lower than 11 sides on the arm and a circular inside (to mate with the motor mount) causes some extremely thin spots and the part might wobble when being print horizontally.

If you print the 2 piece vertical version and they don't fit together nicely, boil some water, let it sit and cool down some, dip the ends of the parts into the water and fit them together while still wet. Works for PLA because the glass transition temp is 60c, not sure about ABS.
