Summary

Slotted base half inch post holder. The holes running up along the body are intended to be tapped for 1/4-20 thumb screws to lock the post in place. The slot in the base is size for clearance to slide along a 1/4-20 screw mounted into a standard 1" x 1" spacing optical breadboard/table.

Post-Printing

You'll need to run a 1/4-20 tap through the holes in the body. Holes oriented in this manner tend to sag and shrink so the tap will be a tight fit. This is intended in an effort to extend the life of the holes.

How I Designed This

Intended to be mounted onto standard optical breadboards and isolation tables. As such, the slot is specced to freely move along a 1/4-20 screw. At about 2.5" long the slot is always within reach of a mounting hole on a standard 1" spaced breadboard.

The through hole on both versions is significantly oversized at 0.520" to compensate for surface roughness and shrinkage that occurs during printing with PLA. I'd recommend a test print of a single piece before attempting a batch.
