Summary

I am a den leader for my local cub scout pack, and I wanted to create a unique gift for the boys that combined 2 interesting activities: cub scout achievements & fidget spinners. So, this is my take on the fidget spinner. It uses a total of five 608ZZ bearings.

Recommended plastic colors:

Spinner (navy blue)
Bearing pads (tan, orange, red, blue, and teal)

I printed these in PLA; however, they will break if dropped on concrete.</p></div>

Post-Printing

Insert 608ZZ bearings

            <div><p>Tools/Materials:</p><ul><li>Hammer</li><li>Two pieces of scrap wood (larger in length/width than the printed part)</li><li>Squeeze clamp (optional)</li></ul><p>You will use these boards to sandwich the printed part and bearing while you hammer onto the top piece of scrap wood. This ensures that a somewhat even force/load is applied to the bearing when you insert it into the spinner opening. I start with the center bearing then work my way around the perimeter.</p><p>You can alternatively use a squeeze clamp to insert each bearing. I found that I could get them about 95% of the way in before using the scrap wood/hammer approach above</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Print & Insert the Bearing Caps</strong></p>            <div><p>I found that the pads from this fidget spinner work well for my spinner: <a rel="nofollow" href="/thing:1802260/">https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1802260/#files</a></p><p>Print out 5 pairs of these pads (Finger_Pad_V2_Twisted_Pins.stl) in:</p><ul><li>Blue (Bobcat)</li><li>Orange (Tiger)</li><li>Red (Wolf)</li><li>Teal (Bear)</li><li>Tan (Webelos)</li></ul><p>I pressed the pads in by hand, but a squeeze clamp may be used for some extra force.</p></div>
