Better Dust Shoe for Round Spindle CNC's
https://youtu.be/DHb6F92jSfw
This is a single part CNC dust shoe that directs the suction toward a small area around the bit, unlike most devices for this purpose. The scad file allows one to adjust parameters to match any CNC and vacuum hose as long as the CNC motor is perfectly round. If the motor is not a perfect cylinder shape, the design might still work, but you'd have to find a radius that allows good grip. I include an STL file which works for the Axiom Pro series CNC machines (80mm spindle), but you might still have to adjust for your vac hose even if you have an Axiom. The design in the STL file is for the Stanley 6 HP 8 Gallon Stainless Steel Vacuum which is at Wal-Mart for 55$ USD.
This design also uses less plastic and is still easy to slip on and off. Furthermore, the scad code is open source and you can adjust many parameters easily in the beginning of the .scad file.
The design easily attaches to the spindle by sliding on and using a paper clip to clamp onto the motor. The hole for the hose pipe is tapered (radius 1mm too big on top, 1mm too small on bottom), so you can slide a regular PVC pipe to attach a soft hose if necessary. I just slide my cheap Stanley vac hose directly into the tapered hole and it seals perfectly.
