Printrbot Extruder Fan Mount version 2

update: I had a flaw in my original design where it ran into the frame. I updated the design to hook over the top edge now. Works like a champ. I also wired my fan to an old wall wart power supply 9v (yes, underpowered but its what I had) and the motor is cool to the touch the whole time.

I have a Printrbot Simple (v2) and I've been printing non-stop with this little thing. Sometimes when I print too long the extruder motor starts to heat up the filament feeding area, which can cause the filament to kink and jam.

People seem to solve this with a fan to cool the motor down. I couldn't figure out how to power the fan off the board, so I just wired an old 12v computer case fan to a 9V battery so it blows on my motor to cool it. Yes, I'm under powering it. But it works, and cools the motor fairly well. Should be good for long prints.

Right now it just rests on the top Z arm with a little hook action around it, and the motor itself, and seems pretty secure. If it falls off, I can always screw it down or add a bit of double side stick tape.

This is the part of the 3d Printing I love the most. See problem, Come up with Idea, Print Idea, Test Idea, Success! (or fail, and iterate till Success!)
