Summary

Modified Adafruit's Raspberry Pi Box to accomidate Longtech 16x2 LCD Module. Also added RS232 port on side. With a Max3232 chip you could turn the TTL UART pins into RS232 level.

I used four 2-56 threaded 1/2" screws to hold the LCD in with.

Three hex nuts for each screw was used makeshift standoffs. The same nuts screwed the LCD into place.

This is all sized for 3mm acrylic. With three nuts as standoff, LCD is flush.

Blue Vectors are inside cuts
Green Vectors are for Outside cuts
Red should be treated as raster.
Black should be cut as Raster, do not cut them as vectors as you'll have too large holes.

If you desire recessed screws:

My hackerspace has a 40 watt Full Spectrum Hobbiest Laser Cutter. I cut at 15% speed, 100% power, 1000DPI in Retina Engrave with laser set to 10mA. This etched deep into the acrylic around screw holes for LCD to allow recessed screws. This is optional, and should only be used on the file with the black circles though. I put the LCD panel mount in a seperate SVG, so you won't have a conflict with the raster settings of the red text.
