Summary

A fun little wonder woman fidget spinner that works with a 0.5 inch bearing. You need to print two of these and sandwich the bearing in between them, and then add the caps when you are done! There is a scaling factor to take into account so please look at the print settings carefully!

I didn't really think over my design well while making it in SolidWorks, so it needs to be scaled to this to work with the bearing it was designed for!  The supports for this just need to be on the bed itself.  Also, this is probably obvious, but make sure that this is lying flat while printing!  It won't print like it is shown in this design.  This design doesn't really need infill because it is so thin.</p></div>

Post-Printing

The small ring-thing

            <div><p>There is a small ring around the main hole on the side with the design.  This did not print well for me, but taking an Exacto-knife and cutting it off doesn't really hinder the design of it.  After printing your two pieces, sandwich the bearing between the two pieces in the main hole.  Make sure the design sides face outward.  Try out your caps and make sure that everything spins nicely before the next step.  Once everything is in order, take everything apart again.  Then, use some sort of glue, (I used hot glue, but super glue would probably work better), on one of the pieces, and carefully put the other piece with the bearing in it on top.  MAKE SURE you do not get any glue on the bearing or in the bearing.  Once this step is finished, add your caps and you are set!  I painted mine gold to give it a cool look, but you can do whatever you want with it to make it your own!  Honestly, any constructive critiques of the design or advice for my next print would be appreciated!</p></div>

How I Designed This

Basically, I designed this for my Engineering Design Studio 1 class at Rose-Hulman. I was given an assignment to make a fidget spinner, so I thought it was the perfect time to start 3D printing! I made the model in SolidWorks and then figured out the math for the scaling factor. I then just converted it into an stl file, saved it as a g-code, and printed it!
