Shadowhunter rune, clairvoyant sight & strength

I <3 the Mortal Instruments. It's easy to make 3D models of vector files. I did a google search for shadow hunter runes, made a pdf of a webpage containing the outline I liked, then I opened the pdf in Illustrator (sometimes I'm good to go with no work but this time I wasn't so I...), released masks, made a live trace & expanded & saved the file in the earliest Illustrator version. I imported the file into 3DS Max and just extruded the imported spline. I played around with different meshes to smooth this out but none were working out that great, hence the downside of just trying to quickly grab a file instead of designing your own.
