Summary

a 3-part LM8UU bearing holder which I designed primarily for my Y-Axis. Designed for printing vertically (i find this produces nicer curves against the bearings), doesnt clip-in, is very strong and wont allow any movement in the bearing.

Instructions

My own design for y-axis bearing holders. You need to print 2 of the bottom ones, and one of the top one. The bottom ones then sit on either end of the bearing and then the whole thing is screwed together with a pair of m3's. Im now using these on my own y-axis and they seem to work well (m90 derived printer) though getting a picture is hard cause my y-axis is very low to the base, but when i pull apart my y-axis and replace the 'straps with printed parts i'll post some pics.

The mounting holes in these models are deisnged for M3 bolts.

Do not print the objects that say "do not print", these are just views of how the models go together (including the lm8uu).

Now includes pics of the model with the "how to put it together" 4-step plan. Please see the photo for the working object and how its put together.

Update: Added an extra 4mm height between the bottom of the bearing and the bottom of the Y axis, changed the base to make it more symmetrical.

Update: changed the gap slightly between top and bottom bolt holes on bottom mount, added 0.1mm to bearing diameter (to account for tolerance in lm8uu's)

Update: Gave the bottom mount a little bit of filleting to make it a little sexier

Updated: added a final image in red of the entire unit put together with the bolts in it (and the sexeh filleting).
