Bolt and Nut for Ikea Patrull Safety Gate

WARNING: Using this part may cause injury or death if (and when) it breaks.

Replacement bolt I had to print as I couldn't find all the original ones when it was time to install the gate after a couple of years in storage. I made it a bit shorter, 80 mm compared to the original 100 mm. Get a metal replacement of your door frame needs a longer bolt. Use at the floor end of the gate to minimize stress on the part.

Printed in PLA, but you should definitely use nylon or polycarbonate or some other strong material. After printing, attach some kind of rubber to the flat surface to increase friction.

NOTE: I added a fillet to the most likely breaking point after printing, it's in the model, but not in my print picture.

UPDATE:

The bolt just snapped in my hands as I bent a it bit to test its strength. Will print it again in PETG, as I don't have anything stronger, but you should most definitely NOT use PLA for this.
