Key Guard 96 Cells Proloquo2Go for GoNow Rugged

Update: Made new one piece guard to fit the iPad Air and GoNow Air case.

Update: Re-created guard with no overlap. A small channel on top of the right hand side allows me to use a hand held 3D pen to weld the two sides together using the original filament.
Below is the direction for making other Proloquo cell configurations.

Using the iPad with Proloquo:

  1. Take a screen shot of a blank 96 cell Proloquo board.

  2. Edited the picture in MS Paint to fill in the areas around the cells with black.

  3. Uploaded the picture to: (Online Convert.com) https://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-svg and converted it to a svg file.

  4. Import svg file into Tinkercad at 19.336% (This resizes the svg file to the exact width of an iPad screen.

  5. Change object from a solid to an empty and place over a box with the same dimensions and join the two item. This make your template.

  6. Change the template from a solid to an empty and center over a box with the dimensions: 212.58 mm X 165.10 mm.

  7. Join the two item. If you have a large enough 3d printer you can just print this file. Otherwise split into two sides.

This is a guard for an augmentative communication device made by combining a GoNow Rugged case and an iPad 2 with the Proloquo2Go app 96 cells and message window size set to very small.

A guard helps eliminate accidental activation by touch of other cells.

I connected the two halves using a 3d pen with the same filament.

The guard is held in place by its outer edge and is placed first inside the GoNow Rugged case followed by the iPad.
