Summary

A unique, portable and functional design with opposed, dual, slitted twist caps allowing to hold 2 different condiments in the same shaker.

I came up with this Dual Salt n Pepper shaker mainly so it uses minimal space in my lunch bag.

Description:
A unique, portable and functional design with opposed, dual, slitted twist caps allowing to hold 2 different condiments in the same shaker.

Use:

Slightly untwist the cap to expose the hole, shake or gently tap with finger to pour condiment.
Flip the shaker over and repeat steps above to pour condiment stored on the other side.

Specification:

The bottom is 54.2mm high x 19.2mm across.
The caps are 12.7mm high.
The shaker with the caps screwed in is 62.2mm high.
The caps have small dents at the top to indicate the location of the hole.

Tips:

Bottom printed better for me at a 60% feedrate.
Shaking and rattling while printing was greatly reduced by choosing rectilinear infill.
Use the scaffolded version if bottom part moves while printing.
Use non-transparent filament for better aesthetics as the different wall thickness of the bottom part gives it an irregular opacity.
Print the caps different colors to distinguish the condiments.

Caution:

Scaffolding can be snapped off but I recommend using a tool instead to cleanly cut it off to avoid damaging the part.
Only use dry foods in this shaker whether using PLA or ABS as those plastics are otherwise not food safe. Please Google for more info.
I would recommend dispensing the part if having to wash more than a few times, even if only used with dry foods, to avoid possible bacteria buildup. Takes just 50 mins to reprint.

Designed with Sketchup, exported with the STL plugin, GCoded with Slic3r and printed with Repetier on a Prusa i3.

I had a lot of fun making this shaker and I learned a great deal.
