Summary

Snake-like bendy toy with a satisfying click. My attempt to recreate a physical object from my own childhood which brings back the memories that I have associated with it.

Outer pieces should snap together tightly with an interference fit, but may vary depending on printer settings and materials used.  I'm imagining glue and or a drill bit may be helpful if the fit isn't quite right.</p></div>

How I Designed This

This is is the result of about a day of iterations trying to get the right feel dialed in. Quite functional when I printed it in PLA, which is easy to find and print with. Probably not the ideal plastic for this sort of toy though, a little more give would work better. To make it usable I've tried to take advantage of the flexibility of thinner parts printed in PLA, but it may be better to use a softer, slightly more flexible plastic for the inner pieces (not as much as flex filament, but nylon perhaps?)

The inner piece is the first thing I've designed with significant bridging, but the printer worked a champ. All of the ones I attempted to print came out fine.
