Summary

Print-in-place action figure, derived from the classic Maker Faire Robot Action Figure model.

Key changes:
1) The bottom curved edges have been modified to limit the maximum overhang angle
2) The logos have been replaced with those of FIRST Robotics Team # 862, "Lightning Robotics"
3) The model has been scaled to make the thinnest wall equal to two passes of a 0.4mm nozzle.

After doing so, feel free to scale larger with increments of 50% (ex. 150%, 200%, 250%...), until you are happy with the final size.</p><p>It is important to prevent your slicer from automatically generating supports, as these may interfere with the moving parts. If you experience poor print quality, research alternative solutions like reducing extruder temperature or slowing down the print speed.</p><p>At original scale and high-quality slicer settings, this took our printers approximately 2.5 hours to complete.</p></div>

Post-Printing

Removal from print platform

            <div><p>If printing at original scale, the hinges are somewhat fragile. Make sure to loosen the arms and legs from the print bed first, THEN proceed to remove the main body from the print bed.</p><p>Note that almost all parts of the model have a small overhang around the edges, so it should be easy to pry each one loose from the print bed.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Moving parts</strong></p>            <div><p>The following parts can move:<br>1) Ankle joints<br>2) Knee joints<br>3) Hip joints<br>4) Shoulders<br>5) Wrists (limited range of motion)<br>6) Neck</p><p>Simply twist each joint to loosen after printing.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Cleanup</strong></p>            <div><p>Depending on your printer configuration and slicer settings, there may be some cleanup required. We have observed two possible issues:<br>1) Stringing between the torso and feet<br>2) Drooping from underside of arms</p></div>
