Summary

KingBo is not only the newest edition to the Bos (the others are still a work in progress as of now), but he is also the king for a game of Chess! How convenient, eh? I will be working on the rest of a chess set as well as the Bos, so expect more soon!
How I Designed This

Overview
            <div><p>I started by finding a design of a chess king I liked (I'll leave a link to that design below). I then started by revolving the very bottom of the base from a normal rectangle. I then used the spline tool to create the rest of the base and revolved it as well. I projected the geometry of the top face and extruded it with a taper. For the shoulders, I revolved two half-circles based on the guide lines and sketch geometry from the extrusion with the taper and connected the empty space between them by projecting the geometry. I then placed a plane within his shoulder, one slightly above, and one slightly above the second plane. I dimensioned the first circle 5mm on the first plane, the next 4mm on the second plane, and the last 5mm on the third plane. I lofted these. I then drew upon the XY axis and took an arc that extended from the back of his neck to the front of his neck at 45 degrees. Next, I swept the sketch geometry of the top of his neck along the arc, and drew two more arcs from that on XY plane; one shorter than the other. I then revolved these 180 symmetrically. For the eyes, I offset a plane from the YZ plane until I felt it was in the right spot. I the revolved the eyes, and offset a plane from the most recent plane to extrude circles in, giving the illusion of pupils. As for the crown, I started it similar to the neck. I placed a plane within his head and extruded it. I then extruded the sketch geometry of the top of that extrusion with a taper. Next, I created a spline from the edge of the tapered extrusion back the center at a higher point and revolved it. I then offset a plane within the crown and extruded another, smaller circle. I placed an arc on the XY plane straight up from the edge of this extrusion and connected it to the center with a line. I then offset a plane from the surface atop the most recent revolution, and placed a point in the center of the circle I extruded from the crown.
