Orion 6" Dobsonion Telescope Filter Holder

I designed this to hold the the thin solar filter membrane. It is designed to fit inside the telescope tube like the cap does, and is 170mm Outside Diameter. Once printed I will insert the filter membrane on the Lower Hinge Plate and close the hinged Top. Then install the clips on the 3 tabs and the hinge to secure everything. I hope someone finds this useful. Just my small contribution to a great community.

Updated March 29,2018:
New version has a Hinge added for ease of alignment when inserting filter membrane. With the hinge addition it became necessary to separate the tube from the bottom plate to save filament (Printing as one would require an extensive support system). So you will need to glue the tube into the Bottom Hinge Plate, making sure the tube is flush with the surface on the inside of the hinge. The tube only goes through the Bottom hinge Plate. The hole for the hinge pivot is 2mm in the design but can be reamed out slightly larger as needed. The Clips should be a snug fit (some sanding of the tabs will be needed to insure the tight fit) and just pushed on so you can remove them and change the filter membrane. Then only one holder is needed for different filter membranes. Just store the filter sheets in a sturdy folder for reuse.
