UC Berkeley Campus 3d map from Lidar data
This is a partial map of the Cal Berkeley campus. Notable features are the stadium, the Greek amphitheater, the Bevatron and the Campanielle. It is a funny shape because that is where the data cuts off.
You can see my tutorial video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4-ICkvyJv0
I made it from a LIDAR dataset available on http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/. One of the benefits of living on top of an active fault line is that they make really good LIDAR surveys. The LIDAR point cloud was gridded to a 0.5m resolution.
I added a lower rez version in case the big file makes your computer hurt.
