Summary

I was looking for a model of the female pelvis and sacrum, per a request from a friend of mine who is a doula.

The base model was great, anatomically speaking, but the low-res poly look wasn't exactly what I was looking for, so I did some remeshing, sculpting, and smoothing in MeshMixer to get a smooth, bone-like texture for the parts.

Still, it uses a lot of support and has very little surface contact with the bed.rnrnFor my prints, I've separated the base model into the 3 primary bones, and then sliced them laterally for optimal printing. Each half contains alignment pins cut to fit a piece of 1.75mm filament, which can either be used to hold the pieces together, or to keep them aligned during glue-up. Much more stable for printing on moving-bed printers, and uses almost no supports.</p></div>
