Optical LED and FILTER WHEEL for Microscopy or Spectroscopy

This is a LED and Filter Wheel for my Zeiss Ergaval microscope.
To the time of the Zeiss Ergaval they all had been made with a dovetail ring ( ringschwalbe ) to mount the tubus. This is of course excellent for custom modifications.
This here is composed of a lower element for the lighting which holds 8 different Starplate mounted LEDs which can be switched by turning the wheel.
Also directly above like in the picture a Excitation filter wheel can be installed, which is very useful even though the LEDs have a tight nm bandwidth.

Between the objectives and the tubus sits the emission filter wheel with 5 color filters.

The 1. picture shows the assembled emission filter wheel in place.
The 2. picture shows the lighting apparatus.
The following pictures show different tissues with different stains, the color ones are taken with my mobilephone via an adapter and the others had been taken with my ccd B/W cam. Its no immunostaining as im not having the fitting antibodys for that at the moment.

Its still a bit chaotic but also not fully finished so...

This is still a work in progress, but already functioning.
