Digital Cailper Plug
This is a data link plug of digital caliper. Please modify the size or shape according to your caliper. It is not a standard size for all makers.
Version 1:
4 Nos. of 1mm dia. wire shall be bent and to pass through the holes plug for Ground, Data, Clock and +1.5V. Holes of wire was drilled with the a section of wire which fixed in a hand drill to ensure perfect fit of hole. L-shaped (i.e. 2mm bent) wire was inserted into the wall of the plug and then bent downward to a little drilled hole at front end. When it is passing through, they were bent alternatively to avoid contact of other end (i.e. 5 shaped). Locking screw was used to fix plug in position.
Please remove the button battery prior to fix the plug. It is because the pin of caliper may be short circuit such that meaningless reading in LCD may be displayed.
Version 2:
In order to have steady connection, I am planning to solder a connector onto contacts of caliper and a 1.5V AAA size battery holder will be added to replace the button battery. Prolong usage can be ensured.
Electronic:
Logic high and low were limited by the voltage supply of caliper. Therefore, some designer were using transistor to enlarge the signals from DATA and CLOCK such that it can be used by PC or SOC board(i.e. Raspberry Pi and etc.). Two circuit diagrams were attached for use and reference.
Software:
It can be download from other designer as shown in the link below.
