ART Turbine
I aim to provide more useful drawings, including documented instructions for building a 10ft tall (about 2 sq meters swept area) version. I will probably only be able to update this once a week or so.
While smaller versions can be printed, because of the way air works (Kinematic Viscosity), smaller versions of the turbine do not work as well (however they should work great in water).
I'm providing these for scientific purposes. This is my design, and it is my opinion that it is not covered by the existing patent ( https://patents.google.com/patent/EP2185810A4/en ).
I no longer own the above patent, but am the inventor.
This is a scaled down model of the 16ft tall turbine that came closest to being fully functional.

It was never permanently installed, vibration issues due to it not being properly mounted meant it was never tested properly. It also had a custom alternator of my own design, which may have contributed to it's problems. It was tested using a proney brake dynamometer, however wind input varied widely and not enough data was collected to make substantiated claims. In general though I expected to see a TSR of 1.3 optimally loaded (0.30 Cp), and what I saw was closer to TSR 1.8 with what seemed like a substantial increase in Coefficient of Power.
Here's a short video with me talking about what's happened to the design, while standing in front of a bunch of the old turbine models.
