DJI Flame Wheel 330 rugged landing gear/suspension
Landing gear that fits the DJI Flame Wheel 330 quadcopter. Something I designed for a mechanical engineering project at college.
Assembly:
Requires 3 printed parts, 2 bolts, and a rubber band.
The left and right boots are sized to nest on either side of the existing landing leg of a DJI 330, like shown in the third image (the highlighted blue piece is the existing arm and leg of the DJI 330.) The boots are squeezed into place with 2 nuts and bolts of appropriate size ( I used some nylon bolts I had access to.) The hook at the top right of the claw piece is designed to retain a rubber band that loops around it and the quadcopter arm. This acts as a suspension, enabling the landing gear to flex around its axle. By adjusting how many times you loop the rubber band, you can tune suspension stiffness.
This is not the most lightweight solution; I designed it mostly to be robust and actually protect the copter in hard landings. I included the inventor files so you can change the size of the bolt holes or other aspects of the design as you see fit.
