Supernatural Angel Blade

Remix of Supernatural Angel blade

I have redone the Angel blade from scratch to be more screen accurate, see thing:3463230

Original version required a lot of sanding on handle due to limited number of fragments on the model. This version I have remade the handle from scratch to make it much smoother reducing cleanup afterwards.

Original was also designed as a snap fit with connectors; here I have made it a solid object allowing cutting for printing in fewer pieces but requires gluing.

I have reused the blade from the original(minor fixes and joined).

I have included the complete item + the blade cut into two; the cut is for printing on a CR-10 Mini.

I have printed with 0.1 layer height but this could be increased or reduced depending on your printer/desired quality.

Print using appropriate infill + perimeters depending on how you are going to use. If you want a piece straight of the printer that just needs joining then 15-20% infill + 3 perimeters should be fine.

For my prints I did:

For the handle I have printed with 0% infill and 2 perimeters.

For the blade I printed with 10% infill and 2 perimeters for the hilt and moved to 0% infill and 7 perimeters for the first 5mm of the blade then back to 2 perimeters for the rest of the blade. The 7 perimeters are to get hood adhesion on to the hilt.

I then filled both solid with herculite(type of plaster) by melting a small hole through the bottom of each, this made the entire model fully rigid and weighted much better for a model piece.

I have added some AMF files exported from Slic3r with modifiers for printing with varying infill and hole for filling, may be of use to someone.
