Summary

Bridges3D™ is a 3 player game using 3 colors. Each player has a different color. The game uses a cube containing 6 cube faces, 12 edge connectors, and multiple copies of 3 different playing pieces. To print out the complete game requires printing 2 cube faces, 4 edge connectors, 3 playing pieces 1, 4 playing pieces 2, and 1 playing piece 3 in each color.

Assembling the Bridges3D Game Board

            <div><p>The six cube face pieces need to be assembled such that the same colors are on opposite faces. Two cube faces of different colors are connected along their shared edge using an edge connector that is a different color than either of the cube faces. </p><p>Each cube face piece is incomplete, missing part of the cube face along  its two flat edges. The edges of the cube faces it connects to complete each cube face. Six of the edge connectors have a square lip and will fit snugly into place. The other six have a slanted lip and will slide into place. it is important to connect a flat edge of one cube face to a cutaway edge of another cube face such that the ends of the edge are uneven, allowing a third cube face to be connected to both to make a 3D symmetrical corner.  </p><p>There are three different playing pieces: Playing piece 1 is played in the center of a cube face, playing piece 2 is played along a cube edge from a cube corner to a connector piece, and playing piece 3 is slid through playing piece 1 in the center of one cube face to the opposite cube face containing another playing piece 1. </p><p>If necessary, sand playing pieces slightly to remove any remnants of the raft so that they can be easily removed at the end of a game.</p></div>

Bridges3D Game Play Rules

Description of the game: This game is called Bridges3D™. Trademarked and copyrighted by Sherwood C Pidcock, October 17, 2016 ©2016.

The game requires 3 players: each player has their own color (I used black, silver/gray, and orange). The play is on a 3 dimensional playing cube board, with the goal of building a continuous "bridge" from one face of the cube to the opposite face of the same color.

Players take turns playing one piece (bridge) at a time between two anchor points of the same color. Anchor points for each player's color are in the middle of four of the twelve cube edges and the corners of the two cube faces of that player's color.

Players can place a piece at the center of a cube face or at one of the cube's corners. If they have already placed two pieces at the centers of two opposite cube faces, then they can also place a piece through the center of the cube that connects (bridges) between these two cube face pieces.

The first player who builds a continuous bridge in 3D from one face of their color to the opposite cube face wins.

Strategy: Players should always block another player's immediate win, unless they can win immediately themselves. If a player makes a move that will win immediately in two ways if not blocked, a player should block the one that allows the third player to block the other one.
