Summary

Recycle your 8mm bars into spool stand very easily !

Print the stand sides, clip your 8mm bar in it and you're done !

Instructions

Printing :

2x Spool-Stand-V4.stl
2 outside walls
20 % or 10% infill

One side take 72g at 20% infill and 56g at 10%
The stand is 19cm tall and will require 19 x 19 cm of printing surface.

Assembling

Take your 2 sides
Clip your 8mm steel bar in the sides.

[Update 1] : i know, this may seems a lot of filament for a spooler, but it is very RELIABLE** (no bending issue etc.).

Long prints ?

More strength in the mouth?

[Update 6/3/2014] : i've updated the model (Spool-Stand-V4.1.stl) to close a bit more the mouth around the 8mm bars. This give a better grip on 8mm bars and better stability.
